Description

I recently posted a widefield image of this area of sky in Ha only and in just 3 hrs due to weather constraints (https://astrob.in/8npe9w/I/).  Uwe, who posted his SHO version of this area, (https://astrob.in/6nf1cy/G/), provided his data so I could add it to mine. Despite having to do a significant amount of cropping to align the data, a nice palette version was attainable, bringing out some of the more prominent objects such as:

NGC 7635 (Bubble Nebula) - the most recognizable and famous object in this region.  It is a peculiar 12th magnitude planetary nebula near the open cluster, M52 (described below).  It is about 11,000 light-years away and the "bubble" is about 10 light- years across.  It was created by a stellar wind from the hot, young massive star and the glow is due to the central star SAO 20575 that is approximately 1-20 solar masses.

Sh2-157 (Lobster Claw Nebula)- perhaps the second most recognizable object in this image, is an emission nebula, also some 11,000 light-years from Earth.   There are even other smaller objects within the area, such as the planetary nebula PLN 110-0.1 which is located near the center of the upper-right quadrant. The bright nebular spot near the center of the image is Lyn's Bright Nebula 537 (LBN537), also known as Sharpless 157a. The small cluster of stars just above the bottom pincer is Markarian 50 and the bright cluster of stars located above the top pincer is open cluster NGC 7510.

Sh2-158 (NGC 7538) - a bright nebula roughly 10x5 arcminutes.  It is located about 9,100 light-years from Earth. It is home to the biggest yet discovered protostar which is about 300 times the size of the solar system.

Sh2-159 - another emission nebula in constellation Cassiopeia.

NGC 7510- a 7th magnitude open cluster that is 11,000 light-years away, located in the constellation Cepheus.  It is approximately 6 arcmins, corresponding to a diameter of 20 light-years.

NGC 7654 (M52)- an open cluster located near the far western edge of Cassiopeia.  It has a total magnitude of 7.3, with an estimated range of 4,000-5,000 light-years away.

This region has so much to explore and adding more hours, with perhaps an even wider field of view, would just make it standout further.
