Description

Sh2-150 is a extensive north-south oriented HII region just east of 26 Cephei; it lies at a distance of about 2,900 light-years, the same as the nearby nebula Sh2-145, and faces the direction of stellar associations Cepheus OB2 and Cepheus OB3. Those responsible for its ionization would be two blue stars: HD 213087 has a spectral class of B0.5Ib and is therefore a blue supergiant, while HD 213405, of class B0.5V, is a main sequence star.
