Description

This object, also known as PK200+08.1, is a planetary nebula is located 7500 light years away in the constellation of Gemini at a declination of +15 degrees.  It is a magnitude 16.3 PN which spans 1.4 arc-minutes in our apparent view.  This corresponds to a diameter of 3 light years.

Like many PN, the outer rim is stronger in HII while the inner section is stronger in OIII. The outer HII signal is brightest on the left and right sides.   The PN is a bit distorted, likely due to interaction with the ISM.

The star at the center is very bright and whitish-blue.  Although it is located where the progenitor star should be, it doesn't have the typical dim blue appearance of one.  So I think it is possible that it is a foreground star instead of the progenitor.
