Description

After viewing Epsilon Lyrae, NGC 6883, NGC 6871 and M93, M56, M31 and M101, with the 10 inch f/6.3 LX-200 (E-Scope) on a CGE PRO at the Milwaukee Astronomical Society grounds,  I began to do lunar imaging and exploring the craters of the lunar surface. Before I knew it, Orion was high enough to image and the moon was starting to get lower. So, I piggybacked on the mount with my modified D5600 and a Rokinon 135mm lens, and shot unguided 2 minute exposures for as long as I could stay warm in 39 deg. weather. By the time I left and took the last sub, the SQM was rising to about 18.89 as the moon dipped behind pine trees.

I'm going to upload both the cropped and uncropped version of the widefield. Frankly, I like seeing as many stars as possible to give context, but the bright moon had begun interfering with the lower right quadrant of this shot - as that was the direction the moonlight was toward. So, the end result is an interesting widefield shot, with some blotching where moonlight couldn't fully be extracted, or a little more of a cropped shot lacking the definition that a longer exposure time would have! Which one to pick as the final? Maybe I'll just revisit this at another time and replace with an even better widefield, but we'll see. Posting the image in the moment for now.
