Description

NGC 2336 is a small, barred spiral galaxy in  Camelopardalis with an apparent size of 7'.1 x 3'.9 and apparent magnitude of 10.3.  Data was initially collected in early January (Version 1) as a brief pilot study with little more than an hour of signal to see if it would be worthy to continue to image with the Esprit 100. It took nearly 7 weeks for a second chance to acquire more data (Version 2), though I am left with the feeling that this image is still an amuse-bouche in anticipation of a much larger telescope or a lot more data collection.

So back to the question to post or not to post?

While not a particularly notable processing example or particularly special target, it does serve to document the imaging journey we all go through; another DSO on the list. To paraphrase a wise astrophotographer, it is not a competition, but the experience. If nothing else, I have something to improve upon! For now, I think I'll stand pat at 5+ hours on this target.
