Description

Known by at least 8 different name designations, NGC 2371 is a small, 2x1 arcmin bipolar (dual lobed) planetary nebula in Gemini.    It resides 4300 light-years away.   The nebula's inner region is H-alpha rich, while the outer envelope is O-III rich.

This object is a bit small for the RASA to do full justice to, but there is some detail of the extended lobes visible.    I'll likely return to this object in the future to try and expand on the detail in those lobes and gas arcs.
