Description

Hi folks,

This is my second visit to the famous Veil Nebula in constellation Cygnus. I was lucky to have a wonderful night last July 27th with some astro friends and got good amount of data to play with. I recorded 210 min with the D5500 modded and combined them with old Ha data set of 125 min I've taken with the Canon 600D through an 12nm clip-in filter. The final image is somewhat cropped as framing wasn't properly lined up, for a total of integration of 5 hrs 35 min in HaRGB.

The Western (NGC 6960, on the right, next to 52 Cyg) and Eastern Nebula (NGC 6995) are supernova remnant that occurred about 5000 to 8000 years ago. In between is the Pickering's Triangle with its delicate diffuse filaments. Some others parts of this huge complex are seen next to the Triangle : NGC 6974 & NGC 6979.

I love this kind of features as they show beautiful details in the filaments, in a subtile bi-color rendition. It also a good target for my little Tak, my "wide field hunter" ;-P

Hope you like this 2020 version and feel free to post a comment ;-)

Clear skies and stay well.

Christophe
