Description

The North America Nebula was one of my first deep sky targets when I started astrophotography in 2016.
Revisiting this object seven years later is not only emotional for me, but also shows how technology and skills evolved during that short period of time!

My intention with this picture was to emphasize the vast dark nebulae separating North America- and Pelican Nebula.
I therefore did not use any narrowband filters, but concentrated on deep luminance exposures, which were taken from my Bortle 2 mountain site.

The result is a monster lurking in the Gulf of Mexico - enjoy!

P.S.: The full frame of this picture can be seen in the original verison.
