Description

One of the things I enjoy while navigating my astrophotography learning process is to feebly attempt to emulate some of the standout images posted by highly skilled imagers on Astrobin. One of the most recent images that caught my attention was M 2-55 by Peter Goodhew. This target ended up being tough, but I find that attempting targets like these forces me to learn new techniques.

This object is a rarely imaged planetary nebula in the constellation Cepheus. The object was first discovered my Rudolph Minkowski in 1947 and the fragmented bow shock front discovery occurred in 2020 by a team of Chinese astronomers. Due to the small size, an extreme crop was employed.

Description: The light bulb is finally starting to flicker a bit with the GHS process. This revision incorporates GHS into the processing workflow in an attempt to eke out a bit more detail.
