Description

A labour of love and about 330GB of raw data ... based on 41 sets of 1000 frames processed from Autostakkert. The top 20% were kept and then a Wavlet + sharpen in filter in Astrosurface.

There's considerable overlap in the frames otherwise this would be a stupid size image, but I was paranoid about missing some sections when you only see around 10% of the moon's FOV in each capture.

My only fail was the overexposed Proculus crater on the edge of the Mare Crisium thats one of the brightest craters on the moon, so it's excusable I guess... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Processing time on a 10th gen Core i7 with modern NVME SSD and 32Gb RAM was around 5-7 minutes per section, so about 4 - 4 1/2 hours work in total plus a bit of Photoshop panoramic merge at the end that took about 10 minutes to chew over. Makes my previous effort with a Altair GP cam 2 with a 200mm SCT look a bit weak!
