I have always loved science and astronomy - as a little kid I had a small refractor and got a subscription to Sky & Telescope magazine which I kept up for decades. I have owned around 20 telescopes, all for visual imaging until 2021 when I decided that jumping into astrophotography would be an excellent retirement hobby - and it is. I am not officially fully retired but that is fast approaching and I have now outfitted my Tesla Model 3 with a proper sleeping mattress so that I can now drive around to different observing sites, setup, program and start a recording sequence, and jump into my car and rest. For the RASA8 this isn't possible as I have to manually change filters and rotate the camera but my RC8 is now equipped with a motorized rotator and filter wheel so I am set!
