Description

Repeating one more of the Sharpless2 Group to see what my new CMOS system can find with a deeper look at the H-alpha here....  Looks like I can get the two side by side with the large chip.

Previous version of SH2 144 and 146. About 10h apiece with the CCD.  Same Stellarvue scope and these images are nice and detailed, IMHO, but hate to spend 20h on these again. The CMOS collect more Ha in 2h.  Sh2 146 had to be toned down it was so bright.

From GalaxyMap:

Both Sh 2-144 and Sh 2-146 appear in the direction of the 377 thousand solar mass molecular cloud [UUT2000] Cloud B. Sh 2-144 appears to lie well in front of this cloud, however, and is associated with the local Cepheus clouds.

No ionising star for Sh 2-144 has been identified in the scientific literature. Avedisova associates this nebula with the pulsating variable carbon star MV Cep in star formation region 107.66+0.82.

Both Sh 2-144 and Sh 2-146 appear in the direction of the 377 thousand solar mass [UUT2000] Cloud B.
