Description

The globular cluster NGC 2419 in Lynx is known as the "Intergalactic Wanderer". It's about 300,000 l.y. away -- that's further than the Magellanic Clouds. It's in an orbit that takes it about 3 billion years to go around our galaxy once. Talk about deep time!
