I have been an amateur astronomer since my early days in grade school way back in the 60's. In the late 80's through the 90's work and graduate school occupied much of my time. I was also composing new age synthesizer music, completing a CD in 1995, updated in 2000 and then another in 2010. In 2000 I became very involved with amateur high power rocketry, designing and launching various rockets in association with [MDRA](http://mdrocketry.org), the premier independent rocketry association in MD. Then, with all the talk of Comet ISON I got back into astronomy with a passion. Purchased an Celestron EdgeHD 1100 and started with digital astrophotography. Rocketry is still an interest, but I've decided to make astrophotography my primary hobby especially at my age now where lugging around large, heavy rockets has gotten a bit old :)
